We were planning to put up a waiting room, emphasizing the actual act of waiting. Taking into consideration the mental state individuals are in, while being among a waiting crowd. With it keeping in mind the bureaucratic process taking place in the background. A waiting space, within the existing waiting hall of the 'Burgerzaken' of city hall. As we were told, our originally planned project might be difficult to realize, due to renovation in the waiting hall of the 'Burgerzaken'. We were offered to make a play-corner instead, for waiting kids. We decided to stick to our original idea, and simply make it smaller: kid-size. Technically we intend to combine furniture objects with screening of animation videos. The furniture design is based on the form of a bee-hive, representing a well functioning closed society. A bee-hive also as a reference to the efficiency of the clerks working in the city hall. We would like to beam cartoon-loops which will be referring to the subject of waiting, of contemplating while waiting and films for the amusement of the public. As we're both busy with the making of computer animation we'll probably also be able to supply the screening with changing program during the period of the exhibition. |
